The Spire Stone: Stress Management and Activity Tracker

The Spire Stone: Stress Management and Activity Tracker was created by a company called Spire Health, which focuses on managing stress, anxiety etc. The product has a clip so you can wear it on your clothes, and it can be used for iOS and Android devices. It contains a sensor that tracks your breathing and measures your respiration patterns through out the day. When your breathing begins to become irregular it will notify you and provide options to help you relax. Some options the Spire Stone provides are visual exercises or guided meditations. The device also records health progress such as activity, steps, and calories. The Spire Stone helps you find repetitive patterns of when you are feeling anxious so that you can be more aware of external/internal factors that affect you throughout your day and further manage these symptoms.

 Discovering this product and others like this product (fitbit etc.), made me realize that there is a new understanding revolving around mental health, self-regulation, and the need for tools to help self-regulation. It also reminded me of how events that happen throughout our day can affect our physical state, whether it be a change in breathing, heart rate, body tension, nausea, changes in sleep etc.  

Obtaining more information about the Spire Stone: Stress Management and Activity Tracker helped me further understand my content questions because it aims to help self and emotion regulation through 24/7 tracking of physical symptoms.
